SALARY
$50,000-$60,000
Our non-profit organization, the Oconomowoc Silver Streak, is currently seeking a full-time executive director to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective operations of the organization, serving as a liaison to the board of directors, and reducing potential risks related to organizational activities. Additionally, the Executive Director will be responsible for submitting grants on behalf of the organization. Time commitment is 40 hours per week. The Executive Director would be advised and collaborate with the board of directors, but report directly to the President of the board.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree/ associate degree in business administration, communications, or a related field
- Five years' experience in administrative/office management of a non-profit
- Communication skills: written, verbal, active listening and diplomacy
- Managerial skills: supervisory, data & financial, leadership, customer service, multi-tasking,
- Time management, marketing, fundraising, conflict management, organizational, motivational/team management, and public speaking
- Passion for the organization’s mission.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
Board of Directors
- Serve as the organization’s ambassador through effective communication and networking
- Collaborate with Board of Directors to develop/implement operational plans; assist the Board and its committees as requested
Organization Office
- Evaluate office systems to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly
- Ensure that health and safety policies are kept current
- Ensure processes & procedures comply with city, state & federal policies/regulations
- Optimize office services: streamline operations & procedures, manage correspondence, evaluate filing systems, and purchase supplies/equipment within budget
- Define procedures for retention, protection, retrieval, transfer and disposal of records
- Maintain a good relationship and regular communication with building owner, find/negotiate with providers/contractors, oversee installations/renovations, buy/replace equipment
Finance
- Demonstrate sound financial record keeping, prepare timely deposits and process invoices
- Manage budgets, track expenses, attention to detail, ensure financial compliance
- Process invoices and manage office budgets
- Show reliability and discretion with confidential matters
Employees/Volunteers
- Supervise and monitor staff
- Ensure productivity and efficiency while maintaining organizational standards
- Render difficult decisions to uphold the organization’s overall strength
- Build relationships with employees and foster a positive office environment
- Perform staff training, assess staff performance and provide guidance as needed
Technology
- Knowledgeable in use of email, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software
- Computer literate with operating systems, programming language, software programs, networks and other technology
This position is a full time 40 hour per week position. Our Board committees will assist with grant writing, accounting, marketing, operational planning, and strategic planning, among other tasks, so that the Executive Director is supported and able to focus on the essential issues of the organization.
